 Job Purpose                                                                                                                            

The Wellness Coordinator drives consistent wellness program development, guidelines, and delivery to Superior employees. The Wellness Coordinator develops programs that create awareness, motivation and provides tools to employees that help them adapt and maintain a well-rounded healthy lifestyle. Working with the diverse employee population at Superior Construction, the Wellness Coordinator identifies appropriate wellness program setting(s) to educate and engage employees to achieve health improvement goals. The Wellness Coordinator will identify both internal and external tools and resources to drive the programmatic goals of Superior’s Wellness initiatives.  A core objective of this position is to facilitate on-site wellness program(s) and influences and shifts behavior of employees at the worksite to lead healthy lifestyles.

Essential Functions

  • Plan, deliver, facilitate, and evaluate wellness program.
  • Responsible for developing, marketing and executing company-wide wellness initiatives and programs.
  • Work with marketing team to create and inform employees about health lifestyle and company related wellness options.
  • Work with external vendors as needed to coordinate wellness related items.
  • Work with HR Director/Benefits Specialist/company’s insurance carriers to increase participation in lifestyle management programs, increase compliance rates for preventative screenings and preventative medicine.
  • Compile an annual comprehensive report that outlines the financial impact of the wellness program.
  • Conduct benchmarking analysis and environmental and culture assessments to aid in program development.
  • Conduct employee benefit surveys and focus groups.
  • Lead wellness committee to assist in driving positive health changes in the company.
  • Plan events and trainings for all levels of employees in the organization to create engagement and health change.

Work Environment                                                                                                                  

The duties of this job will be carried out primarily in the field among project-specific jobsites along with occasional after hours events. Work is performed under limited supervision where the work assignments are subject to established procedures, practices, precedents, methods, techniques, or well-defined policies; the worker plans and organizes the work and determines priorities; and the work is generally reviewed upon completion for technical accuracy, acceptability of results, quality and timeliness.

Physical Demands                                                                                                                    

Physical demands consist mainly of sitting or standing at a work station for extended periods of time, and occasionally lifting and moving light objects. Operates standard office equipment and a personal computer using company systems, databases, spreadsheets, presentations, phones, and word processing applications. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work                                                                              

This is a full-time, exempt position. 40 to 45 hours normally.

 Required Education and Experience         

  • Bachelors Degree in a health and wellness related degree.
  • Highly skilled in delivering presentations and influencing others.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong conceptual, strategic and visionary skills.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Health and Wellness related experience.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications                                                                                       

  • 2+ years of related experience.
  • Construction/Engineering background preferred.
  • Masters degree in a health and wellness related degree preferred.
