Position:  Pipe Estimator-Industrial

Skills and Experience:


This position will responsible for complete review of plans and specifications, quantity takeoffs, pricing, and the compilation of project estimates. The candidate must have a strong knowledge of the piping and mechanical trades for power generation, pulp and paper, mining & chemical, and the process industries. 

 

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Read and understand scope of work and specification documents
  • Read and interpret engineered drawings
  • Read and understand P&ID diagrams
  • Execute quantity takeoffs
  • Identify and qualify subcontractors and suppliers
  • Possess a strong knowledge of piping materials and installation methodologies.
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
  • Strong working knowledge of estimating software like Timberline or MC2
  • Working knowledge of programs such as Primavera (P6), MS Projects, Bluebeam, Synchro, Excel, and Word
  • Well-rounded base of knowledge in construction disciplines
  • 5-10 years previous industrial construction experience is required
  • Small to medium project experience ($5M-$20M+) is required
  • S. Degree – Construction Management or Engineering preferred
  • Travel on short-term basis
  • Must be willing to relocate to Jacksonville, Florida (if applicable)

Essential Job Duties:

  • Visit project and pre-bid meetings to understand site conditions/scope.
  • Review plans and specifications.
  • Provide accurate take-off.
  • Work with estimating team to build the estimate and pricing.
  • Develop preliminary schedule.
